GuardDog/Firewall Question

I have Zone Alarm on my Windows partition, i do an outside scan, and it says im safe, every port returns back stealth.

i boot linux, got Guard Dog running, and i do a scan, and i mostly get closed, and not stealthed. how do i make sure all my ports are stealth and not closed or open?

im running guard dog until get a feel for firewalls, but is there any better firewall gui i can use?

give me feedback, i appreciate.

"Stealth" is a misnomer for "crippled fitering practices", it basically means a firewall that doesn't respond to unwanted traffic. To "stealth" a firewall you would DROP-target any unwanted inbound traffic, opening up only those services to those addresses that need it, and DROP-target any outbound responses for unwanted traffic.
From LQ's Security references, post #2, see Is "Stealth" important?
