If you disable the firewall does mozilla work? In FC, to diable the firewall: as root run the command 'service iptables stop'. To restart it after you've tested mozilla do: service iptables start

Doesn't sound like a firewall problem then. It is more likely to be a general network connectivity problem. Can you ping remote hosts like yahoo by hostname and by IP address:

ping www.yahoo.com
ping 68.142.226.35
