xterm menus

How do I view the xterm windows? I read somewhere that they are no longer enabled in Unity. I am trying to view the xterm Main Menu, Fonts Menu, and the Options Menu.

In order to launch an xterm, set DISPLAY (if it's already not set) and invoke:-
Code:
~$ xterm &
Second, as far as I know, an xterm windows do not have main menu or fonts or options menu, but you have to manually set such attributes in .Xresorces file.
Code:
~$ cat ~/.Xresources
OR
~$ cat ~/.Xdefaults

hmm - in a quick check of Ubuntu 12.10, the left-control-mouse menu is not working (bindings for selection are interfering), while the other two are working. I usually use the toolbar configuration; all of the menus are functional. Whatever problem exists is outside xterm.

By "not working", I mean that the control modifier is being ignored, causing a left-mouse action to do selection. xev doesn't show a problem in delivering the events.

Sending bug-reports to Ubuntu is on the other hand like writing to /dev/null.

http://invisible-island.net/xterm/manpage/xterm.html,
The section DEFAULT KEY BINDINGS, shows the key translations which activate menus.
Specifically the part
Code:
                !Ctrl <Btn1Down>:popup-menu(mainMenu) \n\
           !Lock Ctrl <Btn1Down>:popup-menu(mainMenu) \n\
 !Lock Ctrl @Num_Lock <Btn1Down>:popup-menu(mainMenu) \n\
     ! @Num_Lock Ctrl <Btn1Down>:popup-menu(mainMenu) \n\
