I have just replaced my old computer which was running Fedora Core 6. New one is dual core Intel, motherboard ASUS P5Q, integrated network card. Using the same steps - wizard - that worked on my old system I can not get the xDSL setup. The modem is the same - SPEEDSTREAM 5200 ADSL.
I suspected seLinux would block access, so I set it to 'permissive', with no improvement.
I do not know how to make sure my - integrated - network card works ok. I am posting output of lsmod, lspci, ifconfig - can someone help me interpret them please?
Thanks! I followed the link and went further to the ASUS web-site to download the source for the module.
I still ran into a problem though, when i tried 'make' : it needs the kernel source. The sources seem to be missing in my fresh installation - under /usr/src/redhat/ there are 5 empty sub-folders.
I downloaded the source .iso, which contains thousands of .rpm files and a small sub-folder. I doubt copying these as such somewhere will let me compile.
Can someone please tell me how do I go about properly installing the source files?

The kernel-src rpms are needed....not the iso for making a distro
You can always install them using yum
#man yum
You can burn the iso to a cd/dvd and use it as a local repository too.
