You should check whether your distro has packages for Samba and install them using the package manager. After doing that, people will be able to help you configure Samba. Which distribution are you using?

i'm using OpenSuse 1.11 with GNOME as GUI
I just downloaded " Gnomba-0.6.2 " cause i didn't knew wich i had to download i just searched for workgroup and the first wich could configure that, i downloaded !
