Wifi: Ubuntu 20.04, Gigagbyte GA-320M-S2H and AMD Ryzen 5 2600 AM4

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 on a Gigagbyte GA-320M-S2H Motherboard and AMD Ryzen 5 2600 AM4 Processor. I cannot find a Wifi card or USB device that works, since my old card failed (sorry, can't remember what, but it's now obsolete).

I have been using an Ethernet cable connection for a couple of years but need to get back on Wifi.

The two USB Wifi devices were designed to work with Linux. The PCI slots on the motherboard seem to be working - they work with a different type of card. I have tried several Wifi cards from different manufacturers.

Are there any known issues with this (or similar) combination of Ubuntu 20.04, AMD Ryzen 5 2600 AM4 processor and A320 chipset?

Can anyone recommend a suitable Intel setup for Ubuntu 20.04?

If you have a USB device (with an antenna) to connect to your wifi - then you'll need to install the driver for that USB device to work.
The driver should come as a CD with the USB device.

If you have a wifi card which will fit into the PCIe expansion slot of your motherboard - then you'll need to install the driver for that wifi card.
The driver will also be with the wifi card or you may be able to download it from the internet (using your ethernet cable).

Check your broadband router to see if wifi is enabled.

Drivers, etc

Thanks, Larstrier.

The USB devices (with antennas) were supposed to work with Linux 'out of the box'. I have amended my original post to show this.

The router is providing satisfactory service to another PC in a different room, and provides adequate service to my PC on Windows 10. I have amended my original post to show that Windows works. I apologise for not mentioning key facts, it is my first post.

I shall try to find Linux drivers for the wifi card (or cards, I have several), but I think I have probably tried this already.

You may want to check if wifi is enabled on your Ubuntu OS.

The link in this tutorial may be helpful: https://ubuntu.com/core/docs/network...fi-connections
