What to use for a mail server

Hi Folks

I have a spare box and want to use it as a mail server. What Linux version should I use and which mail program?

Thanks

Joe

The one you understand the most...

Have a read (google, distrowatch, LQ...) and then install and play with the ones that sound like you.

Cheers,

Any distro will do, and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the software I used to run on Gentoo for my mail, it was really good but

Hopefully someone will mention it here so I can download it again...

Sendmail is a relatively easy to set up mail server,
it works well too.

Any distro. Postfix is a very secure and reliable mail server.
