What is the purpose of this window ?

This window appears on its own, randomly.

What is the purpose of this window ?

I am using Ubuntu 18.04.

Are you logging into a hotspot when this happens? This is a browser window showing the directory browse of a web server. Some Internet providers (public hotspots) throw up a window that prompts for a login when user's attempt to connect. What are you doing when this window pops up?

Searching for https://duckduckgo.com/?q=nmcheck.gnome.org (the domain in the image) appears to turn up plenty of answers.

I am not doing anything. Its totally random.
