multi-purpose Server/gateway

I am looking for a distro to place on a old P166 machine with very little RAM (4 MB). I would like it to act as a small web server for me to test pages on and also as a gateway for my other machines to connect through on a dial up connection. The main limitation seems to be the RAM. It has a CD drive but cant seem to boot from it. Does anyone know a distro that would meet my means ?

So long as you have the diskspace then which distro you use won't make a massive difference unless you try to use any graphical admin tools, in which case your RAM will hold you back. I'd be tempted to use Slackware ('cos I'm biased) as it seems to avoid any mention of graphical admin tools. I'd be seriously tempted to get some more memory though!

cheers

Jamie...
