What does @ mean at the end of the filename

Hi

Can anybody tell me why some files have @ at the end of their name?

Regards

if i touch abc@ nothing special happens, it just creates me a file with a name that ends with @. maybe it's different for other distros. What distro do you have?

This is because you're system is calling ls with the -F flag

The distro might have "ls" set to that by alias or other means so simply the command ls may show that. Or visual displays like MC or another may show it by default.
