Thumbs up vmware and linux


hi
I just wanted to know which is the newest vmware version i can get to set up linux.
I am planning on installing slackware 13.
so please give me any relevant information about
vmware,where can i get it and how to install it and
further.

Just type 'vmware' in Google. The first hit has everything you need.

For Linux you can download VMware server Product which is free, and you can get it from http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/d...are_server/2_0 .

And if you are planning to make a linux VM on windows then VMware Workstation 7.x is the latest but for that you have to purchase the licences.

I would also like to suggest that instead of VMWare, you might find Oracle's "VirtualBox" easier to use.

I've had a lot of luck with pre-built "Appliances".

For example:
www.thoughtpolice.co.uk/vmware/
<= Just download the (free!) Linux VM, download a (free!) copy of VMWare Player .. and you're done!
