I have usb_storage loaded? (I really am guessing from output here.. like I said I'm new with this) But not something called usbcore like you do. Could this be the issue? If so how do I remedy this? And thank you for responses guys...

Absolutely you NEED usb_core.
usbcore 112644 5 usb_storage,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd
are the drivers for the USB port.. One is for usb 1.x the other is for usb 2.x ports. without usb_core and those other modules loaded your usb port has no driver to even function...
unless maybe those are compiled directly into the kernel.. are you using any other usb devices ? keyboard, mouse, joystick, etc.. ?
