USB connected Cable Modem

I have just installed suSe 8.1 My computer found my Toshiba PCX1100U usb connected cable modem. This cable modem is capable of being connected with the RJ-45 connection, but I have a bad NIC card and wanted to try the USB option before buying a new one. During install it asked if I would like to configure the modem, but it only had the option to configure it as a dial-up modem. How would I configure this type of modem? Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

ehm, get a new ehternet card, then you won't have this problem,

no go on the usb connecting devices, get a new nic card fer 8 bucks online, email me and ill tell ya where
