No, which Linux distribution e.g. Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, etc. Although posting your graphics card specs wouldn't hurt either.
Why don't you run xorgconfig on the command line (while logged in as root) and try reconfiguring your X windows. I think this was suggested in another thread -- did you try it?
to make thing easier, when you run the xortconfig set the drive to vesa, egleast you will have a gui then and you can look for the solutions while running linux.
i figured out the problem but the new 1 is i forgot wht my VGA card is and my screen

You mean you know the type as in tft/crt and pci-E/AGP or manufacturer or what?
the easiest way is to check them for vendor info/serial numbers and plug them into google and see what it turns up
i meen their type like nevia and MAG technology and is their such a thing as nevia sis 315 NEVIA card or its not NEVIA its something else and if it is wht is it?

so xpromisex its not nevia but sis should i try to install linux again and instead of NEVIA i put my drive as sis and my modem is MAG technology but i dont know wht version and i cant find out should i put unprobed modem?
