Question upgrade from RHL 8 To fedora core 1


hi
I have P3 450 with 64MB ram and 6GB hdd runing on Red Hat 8. I want to upgrade it to Fedora core 1 witout reinstall.I dont have Internet on this pc.When I boot from Fedora core 1 cd it shows no upgradation option so I tried doing rpm -F comand but it wont work.Please help
Can anyone tell me if core 1 will work fine on my pc or should I get some other dist.I use this pc for playing small games and playing mp3,vcd,midi file etc. nothing serious

There's rather a big difference between Fedora and RH 8. I don't think that such upgrade is supported. What I'd do is an installation, but without deleting your settings, personal files etc. Such process would be easier if you had separate /home (separate partition). Do you have such setup?

So it's not very good. To keep your /home you'd need to pack it and move to another machine (or another partition, disk in this one) and then move back after you install.
