Updating the Kernel

What does the new Kernel(2.4.2) offer?

How do I check what kernel I have?

type 'uname -r'

The latest kernel is 2.4.21.

I don't know how to patch a kernel. With red hat I just run up2date.

I would like to know how u do it with slackware.

just download the latest kernel and install the rpm. You may wanna use red-carpet or up2date to do that

Just an FYI:
2.4.2 is surely NOT the new kernel It'd be rather 2.4.21 as pointed out above.

To see features, check either www.kernel.org OR your distros page that discusses the patches it has applied.

Cool
