updates available icon

Recently noted the up2date icon, clicked it and found four updates available. I went thru the typical process, and the manager informed me no updates were necessary, yet the icon doesn't go off, and up2date indicates 4 package names (epiphany, and three for Mozilla).

Up2date also indicates I have the new kernel installed and I should reboot. I reboot and get the same message. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rich

Maybe grub is not configured to use the new kernel or your old kernel is selected as the default by grub when you boot your system. You can change this by editing your /boot/grub.conf or by uninstalling any old kernels.
