ubuntu mouse

hello,

I'm using ubuntu. Is it possible to set the mouse acceleration/sensitivity to a value beyond the maximum that is available through System->preferences->mouse ?

Thanks.

If you run gconf-editor and go to /desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse then the motion_acceleration and motion_threshold values adjust acceleration and sensitivity respectively - although whether or not setting them to values inaccessible using the System>Preferences>Mouse dialog will actually make a difference, I don't know it's possible it will just ignore higher/lower values. You can always try
