this is how to install photoshop 7 on linux redhat 9 WINE 2003 09 11

im using wine 2003 09 11

redhat 9

im doign a clean install of WINE

ok this is how u do it,

first of all, log in as root in linux redhat 9, and in ur root directory, move all the setup files into there, nmot inside a folder, jus in the main root directory, then run setup,

photoshop should not run flawlesslesy the setup installation, without having to edit any wine.conf file

i figured this out, becuz i tried to run CDEX an mp3 ripper windows program, btu it sed "could not find E:\\lame_enc.dll"

and i realised that e:\ wus my root directory, usibng the notepad > file > open dialog in wine,

so if u wuna instal stuf, install it on the root directory,

also, i couldnt finish the install in the root, due to a tight partition, so i burned the setup files to a disk, and instaled from the disk, and it took up 130mb for photoshop in redhat, excluding the help files, i think it wus 130 mb

photoshop 7 wus now installed and im showing of to my m8s

also, im stil a newbie in linux, and im always logged in as root :-)

p.s. i edited my wine.conf and chandged my version to winme

If all your going to do in linux is install windows software, why don't you just use windows and save yourself the headache?

Not sure what you mean.

I was just referring to some one who insists on logging in as root deciding write their own how-to.

Kinda like getting in the car for a driver safety class and finding out you instructor is drunk.
