The 4 Slackware CDs


I'm about to try slackware...but 4 CDs...WOW!!!

I know that CD 1 and 2 are install discs so that's a definite must...can someone else what CD 3 and 4...do...and...do I need them?

You don't need them to install slackware. They are just books and source codes but they are good for your health

1 is all you need unless you want Gnome and KDE and some other goodies. Then 2 is all you need unless you want the source code and even more stuff. Then you need all 4. But 1-2 should do.

oh thank goodness...4 CDs is just asking too much...heh...

Okay well I'm downloading 1 and 2 now...should be done soon...then I can give this a go at it and all that

cd 3 contains the Slackware Essentials book and Source code,
cd 4 has zip slack, more source code, and older packages that are
no longer supported but could be useful...........you should get these
just to have them around.........
