System will not awaken normally from sleep

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 8930G with a Nvidia Ge force 9600M GT/PCIe/SSE2 graphics card I am running Ubuntu 18.04.2 with 4.20 Kernel. The system works perfectly exept when I try to wake it from sleep mode, whether It was put to sleep using Acer keyboard or Ubuntu suspend button. On awaken attempt I catch a glimpse of the bionic beaver on the screen and then the screen just shows a continuous scrolling list of commands. I then have to power down and then power up again to get my system working. Can you please help?

Thank you in anticipation,
MESTL
