sound card RHL 7.1??

How do i get my sound card on my laptop to work in Red Hat 7.1? can someone please help this newbie?

You should post your laptop/soundcard specs for a better chance of getting good help.

Is there a soundcard configuration tool in r.h. 7.1?

yes it has the tool but when i selected the one it found it still wasnt working

There are two main sound controllers that are used the older one is "oss" (open sound system), which is probably in your kernel. "alsa" is taking over oss, as it is included in the newer kernels. search around to see if either of these support your card.
