hi all,
samba is installed on my fc11:
[root@localhost Software]# rpm -qa |grep samba
samba-common-3.3.2-0.33.fc11.i586
samba-winbind-3.3.2-0.33.fc11.i586
but when i run:
[root@localhost Software]# service smb status
smb: unrecognized service
and also in the nework i can see the lan computer,
why there are no smb,and nmb service?

smb is the server. You are not running the samba server, you have the common files that allow you to connect to a windows network. If you install gvfs as well, then you can use nautilus file manager to connect to windows shares.
If you want to run a samba server then you must install it.
Use add/remove software and search for samba. All the relevant samba files and programs will show up. The server comes under the name "samba".
