Unhappy Slackware 10.0 with NO Desktop

I need help I know nothing about linux or any of it's working and a friend set up a linux game server for me on a old AMD 400 Gateway PC but had to leave for Iraq early before WD replaced my 200gig HDD for my USB Storage Drive which I have networked to all my PC's using Linksys Stoage link. The PC accessed by a web site >> Version 1.180 on ????-??????(Slackware Linux 10.0)
with windows I would just right click My Network Places and pick a drive letter and so on and be done the drive would open in a window. So what I'm looking for is info on how to get the Linux server to see this drive connected to my Linksys Router

The best way is probably to use the smbmount command. As root:

mkdir /mnt/netdrive
smbmount //linksys/share /mnt/netdrive -o username=<username>,password=<password>

You can replace /mnt/netdrive with wherever you want the drive to show up and //linksys/share with the correct host name/share combination. The username and password are for the Linksys. Fopr security reasons, you'd actually probably be better off not specifying the password on the command line, but wait for smbmount to prompt you for it.

It's been awhile since I've done this, so hopefully I got that right...
