Setting up wireless internet in Suse 9.3

I've kind of jumped in at the deep end so to speak. I've just erased XP off of my laptop and installed Suse 9.3

I know nothing about Linux at the moment and I'm having trouble setting up a wireless connection.

My laptop is a ACER 1502LMi which has a WLAN G (Broadcom)"WLAN 802.11g mini-PCI Module

I also have a NETGEAR DG834G wireless broadband router.

Which also came with a NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter

I can't get a single connection. It works fine when I plug the laptop into the modem using a ethernet cable.

Under Monitor - usb devices Linux can see the WG111 usb adaptor but I can't work out how to activate it.

Any will be much appreciated!!!

Which adapter do you plan on using the USB one or the internal one?

what are the outputs of the iwconfig?

I'd go back and reinstall XP on that laptop and duel boot for awhile at least... knowing from my own growning pains your gonna be going back and forth for a while till you get all the bugs worked out of your linux install.

Hi,

I don't mind using the usb or the internal one.

If I go dual boot then i'll just end up using XP all the time as it's the easy option but if I just keep Linux on my laptop then i'll be forced to use that if you know what i mean.
