sending old e-mails into new mail server inbox

I need to send my old mail servers inbox mails to a new servers inbox. Ive been trying to do this with fetchmail with no luck. Can someone please help?

just copy the ~/mail dir over? Why has a server got an inbox? Are you just changing mail accounts? IMAP or POP3?

changing mail accounts. imap. sorry my incorrect terms, i meant the emails left on the server.
