sending messages in a linux base LAN


Hi,

Can anyone tell me is there is anything like "netsend"(windows command) in linux? to send message in the LAN.

I presume you mean to another user. If that's the case there's talk see an explaination here: http://linux.about.com/od/commands/l/blcmdl1_talk.htm or you could always set up a Jabber server and have your own internal Instant Messenger system.
