Screen Shots

I keep reading about customized desktops what am I missing? Does anyone have a screen shot of a really tweaked desktop?

www.lynucs.org has a lot of linux and bsd screenshots.
What you're missing depends on what desktop environment you're using. Apart from cool wallpapers, you could look into transparent terminals, gtk or qt themes, icons...

customized shortcut keys and virtual desktops are the real flexibility aspects that i love about linux (speed and stability are other +++). I can start up progs, maximize, minimize, and move windows, switch b/w desktops... pretty much anything w/o taking my hands off the keys. Same benefits apply to vi. Screw windows.
