Isn't anyone else curious about why the Nokia suite is needed to connect to the internet?
mpallwa, I am going to assume that you use a nokia phone as a modem, but on Linux there are plenty alternatives to using the Nokia PC suite. The simplest way is if there is possibility for wireless tethering, but if that is not available, there are cable solutions as well.
A quick google search gave me some results, like

this possibility. A bit more research would probably give even more results, but you should do that on your own, since I don't know the specifics of your connection method.
Also the previous posters have a point, you should use a version of Mint that is still supported. Good luck!
