Running an RPM package in Kubuntu with ALIEN!!!

Hi,
I have just installed kubuntu dual boot with windows XP...
I have a internet connection in Windows XP. I need to install a RPM package in kubuntu to get my net running. How do download alien from Windows and run it in kubuntu?

Thanks in advance,
Karthik

P.S: I do not have an internet connection in Kubuntu!!!

Granted, those packages are for Dapper Drake(6.06), not sure if it will work in Edgy(6.10). Alien is listed there, so I guess you could try to download it in Windows, burn it to a CD/Copy to a Floppy, Reboot to Linux, and try to install it from Media....

Its probably gonna all depend on wether you're using 6.06/6.10 wether that file works or not, but it may be cross compatible, so cross your fingers..

Good luck

Also, be sure that you have all the dependent packages related to alien installed on your system.

If not, download the dependent ones that you need also (from the same link that IGF provided) and install those first. You can install .deb packages either with Gdebi (software installer) or sudo dpkg -i on the command line.
