red hat dhcp ?

I use road runner to connect to the internet on my windows machine, and i have a router, so i'd like to also connect my linux machine to the net as well now. I was told all i have to do is enable the dhcp on my machine and it will be connected. Is this so? And if so how do i do that? If you haven't guessed, i'm a newbie so pls be gentle.
