Rebuilding Software Packages for Older Ubuntu 10.04

Is there a way to rebuild an older Ubuntu 10.04 system since the usual software repositories are no longer supported? The software packages are obviously out-of-date, so we can't really load anything.

Longer part of the story is that we are trying to rebuild an old server that recently crashed, which was running Ubuntu 10.04 and our CRM software called vTiger via mySQL.

We have a backup of our vTiger database as an .sql file, but we can't seem to load it on our new server using Ubuntu 18.04; so my thought was to try and replicate our old build to get the information - then move it over to the new (updated) server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

what about http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/10.04.0/?

You could probably install it on a VM load your database etc there.

Hi

https://askubuntu.com/questions/8055...r-ubuntu-10-04

You need to change sources.list manually to old-releases so you can upgrade.

Then you need to upgrade - one LTS version at the time. That's going to take a lot of time...

I mostly use postgresql and have only a limited knowledge of mysql/mariadb but it might help to provide some actual errors versus can't load.

How did you create the sql dump? Is it just the tables or did you include the database definition?

How did you build the new system? Did you create the vTiger database/user etc?

As far as I know if you used mysqldump the SQL statements are not version/database specific and can be used to reload tables to almost any SQL server.
