rdesktop opens then closes right away?

Well, I decided to move my laptop from SuSE to Slackware 9.1. Install went fine and so far I am learning a lot because I am not so tied to wizards (which was my goal).

I used rdesktop on SuSE and really loved it so I decided to download and install it on my new Slackware installation. Installation seemed to go fine.

I did alt-F2 to run rdesktop... "rdesktop 10.64.16.37" and I noticed the terminal window open and then suddenly closed.

Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

run the command in a terminal and see if there's any error messages.

actually, it only happens when i am trying to access certain servers. i am at home now and it is working fine. however, when i am at work (i am using a laptop) it does it only on certain servers. when i go back to the office i will run it from xterm and see if i pick up error msgs.
