Everything closes

Ok, now this is odd. At completely random points in time, something I have open, will instantly close, no warning, nothing. Why is this? My distro is Fedora Core 4

Could you post your system specs? e.g.: RAM, processor. It may be that KDE is using up your RAM. Could you check to see what's all running and the amout of memory it's using.

Is it particular programs that are crashing or does it affect everything at one point or another? Try running a program from the command-line so you can see what error messages it prints when it closes.
