Problems with instalation of KOffice

Can enybody help me to solve one problem. When i trying to install KOfiice i meet one fault. After execution of ./configure i have:

Cecking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

I try to configure with --prefix=/etc/opt/kde3/
According included in /etc/kde3rc file (also i tryed with /var/lib/kde-profiles/default)

linux:/home/Serge/Packages/koffice-1.6.3 # more /etc/kde3rc
[Directories]
prefixes=/etc/opt/kde3/
userProfileMapFile=/etc/kde-user-profile

[Directories-default]
ProfileDescription=Default profile
ProfileDescription[de]=Standardprofil
ProfileInstallUser=root
prefixes=/var/lib/kde-profiles/default

What could be a problem?

Yes but you need the dev one if you want to compile by hand.
BTW why do you want to do that? Don't they have pre-packaged koffice builds on SLES10?
