problems with ATI firegl 7600

hi everyone,
hopefully i find some solutions here.

i have massive problems by running my graphics hardware (ati firegl 7600) on linux fedora 9.

1. if im starting fedora 9, i get artifacts which i think it depends on the graphic buffer. so it take about 1 minute to refresh complete the screen lol sorry but it makes me laughing and crying. (standard display drivers for ati, by using the config command system-config-display)

2. after i downloaded the newest driver 8-8 from amd - which says it should work with my graphics card and im installing sucessesfully the driver, then X isnt starting anymore.

the error i get if im trying to start X after installing:
"
...
[EE] Failed to load /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_dr.so
[EE] Failed to load module "fglrx" (loader failed, 7)
[EE] No drivers availble.

Fatal server error:
No screens found
"
(yes i rebooted my system)

so, how is it possible to run my graphics card on my system, oh it was a very expensive card...

thanks for help

Fedora 9 DOSE NOT support the ati drivers
install fedora 8
OR downgrade xorg to the one in fedora 8

I managed to get my X1650 card running on F8 by adding the Livna repository and using these links as a guide:

They may help you
