Question Problem with Fedora Directory Server 1.1 during installation


Hi,

When I try to install Fedora Directory Server 1.1 in fc6 I got the following error message,

"the error was "failed to open an LDAP connection 'linux.local' port '389' as user 'cn=Directory Manager' Failed to create the configuration directory server

I need the solution for the above said issue, please....

May be you have openldap running already on the port. what is the output of
Code:
netstat -ntlp

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply,

the default port used by FDS is 389, how ever if we change the port no. also the same problem repeats.

suggest me if there is any installation guide available for the same.

Yes there is a guide on the FDS site, the last time i installed FDS it was a breeze without errors. I cannot put my finger on your error, take a look at the logs and see if there is any indication of errors.
