Little help with Fedora Directory Server

I run a CentOS 4.1 server, mostly for web and php/mysql and was curious about creating a ldap server. I installed the openldap-server and had it configured correctly and was on my way. A few days ago I came across the Fedora Directory Server and thought it would be something worth checking out. I played with it for a few days but decided it was a bit much on what I wanted to do. So I uninstalled the directory server using the script and then uninstalled the rpm. Now I'm trying to get back to my original openldap stuff, but the service goes through the motion of starting but when I try to connect to it, it says it can not bind. If I do a ldapsearch it comes back with "ldap_bind: Can't contact LDAP server". My config files in /etc/openldap are intact but I guess somewhere is some left over from the directory server that is stopping ldap from starting correctly.
Any ideas on where to look at? Thanks.

Well I received no replies so either noone knows or noone did what I've done I decided to just reload it. Only takes a little bit to reload a web and mysql server anyway. Just this time I won't mess with the fedora directory server. After messing with both the directory server and openldap, I found that openldap is just as powerful, and easier to control and configure.
