Playback devices gone and no sound suddenly after updating yesterday (Fedora 36)

Distro: Fedora 36

So, normally audio works just fine (I have a Sound Blaster Z sound card) and I can select the output. However, all of a sudden today it's completely broken. At first I saw a muted microphone icon in the system tray and noticed that only the HDMI audio output was available. I tried reinstalling pipewire, pipewire-pulseaudio, wireplumber, alsa-firmware, etc, and now the icon is entirely gone. I can't even select my sound card in alsamixer, it's just... gone (the device does show up in lspci though).

I tried following this article, but nothing changed: https://www.ericsbinaryworld.com/202...for-fedora-36/

When I check the status of the wireplumber status however, I do see this:

Code:
Sep 12 15:29:43 fedora systemd[1449]: Started wireplumber.service - Multimedia Service Session Manager.
Sep 12 15:29:43 fedora wireplumber[11175]: Failed to set scheduler settings: Operation not permitted
Sep 12 15:29:43 fedora wireplumber[11175]: reserve-device plugin is not connected to D-Bus, disabling device reservation
Sep 12 15:29:43 fedora wireplumber[11175]: SPA handle 'api.libcamera.enum.manager' could not be loaded; is it installed?
Sep 12 15:29:43 fedora wireplumber[11175]: PipeWire's libcamera SPA missing or broken. libcamera not supported.
Sep 12 15:29:44 fedora wireplumber[11175]: <WpSiAudioAdapter:0x55ce86033060> Object activation aborted: proxy destroyed
Sep 12 15:29:44 fedora wireplumber[11175]: <WpSiAudioAdapter:0x55ce86033060> failed to activate item: Object activation aborted: proxy destroyed

Tried booting into an older kernel, my sound card is showing up in alsamixer now, but the issues with pipewire persist, and I'm still unable to get sound working.

EDIT: sound does work now, though I can't adjust the volume with my keyboard keys, nor does the audio icon show up (audio setting is also missing from system settings).

It is quite possible you may get a better answer if you were to ask the question at https://ask.fedoraproject.org since that forum is specialized for fedora and has a lot of users with the Fedora 36 OS and they may be able to point you to the cause and a quick fix.
