Password Recovery (not root)

I forgot/lost the password to the account i usually use to boot onto linux. i dont really want to boot into root because of the things it is possible to do, plus for security reasons. is there any way to recover the password for my account (not root) from the terminal? I know this is a basic question but i looked for this and found ways to get the root password but all i want is that other one. Also im using RH9 with the grub loader.

Go to a full-screen console as root and do
passwd <username>

Thanks, worked like a charm. I was wondering if that passwd command would work for my account too. Thanks again.

P.S. Why is it always after you change your password you remember the old one? Ack!
