Question Open ISO file in Windows

Have downloaded Mint 17 32bit twice. Once onto dvd and next to Movie Maker. Unable to open either as Windows does not recognise this type of file. I would like to play the dvd to see what 'mint' is like before I make the decision to install it.
Hope you can help
Thank you all for your offers of help, however I have now bought the distro.

Have a look at this guide. It will explain how to burn your ISO to a DVD and how to install Mint. You don't open the file with Windows; you boot up your system with the DVD. Anyway, have a look at the guide and see if things are clearer.

the file you downloaded isnt a movie.

you should research how to create a live-cd (i would recomment making a live-usb) and boot up your pc with it plugged in.

A safe way is to install a free virtual machine. It would then allow you to run linux and windows at the same time. You'd use that iso image file as a source to boot up the vm's client.

ISO problem

Thanks to all who offered their help with my problem, however, I have ordered the Linux mint dvd from sourceforge as this seems to be the easiest way.

OK, we only offer ideas. You have to decide. Thanks for the update.

Microsoft Windows normally dose not know what to do wit ha ISO disk " image"
and normally a 30 day "free trial" copy of NERO came with the machine
