now that's the part where it confused me lots! lol I didn't know that ISO is also known as images. as you all can tell I'm totaly new to iso and images. Cause well there wasn't ever a need to learn about them till now.

I guess I'll just test out what I got so far.. .img and .iso files.

winrar, in it's infinate anti-wisdom defaults to counting isos as archives (maybe it's good at extracting from them?) so you probably got confused seeing winrars icon for the .iso.

What burning software do you have? with the vast range of people and setups on here someone will be able to help with the steps (assuming the above link doesn't).

thanks guys for the more info..

sorry for being such an newb to all this.. lol

I downloaded and installed then burned my CD. hopfully this time it works. the other ones are junk now.

ok. going for a tester!

So far so good. I got and installed Linux. It seems to be working.

EDIT: the site looks better now. lol
Now how the hell am I suppost to install my motherboard drivers and that? it don't want to auto start. lol one problem after another.

Auto start? What do you mean? If Ubuntu is working already then there probably isn't anything to gain by installing mobo drivers....unless you have a very exotic board..
