Unhappy Olympus C-1400 XL connection

Hi,
I hope some one can help, I suspect its something simple that I'm not doing.
Here's the problem:
When setting up a digital camera with Digikam or in the KDE control panel, I select the model,
which automatically recognises that it uses a serial port, but I get no
options in the camera port path drop down menus below. I have two serial ports, the
modem being on dev/ttyS0 I think.

My PC has the following specification:
VIA Technologies ?VT 8366/A 8233/A chip set?
AMD Athlon 1800XP 512MB RAM
Win XP, SUSE Proffessional 9.2 dual boot
with FAT 32, Linux and NTFS file system.
The Linux desktop is KDE 3.

Cheers
Rob
