Nvidia driver ugly?

I just installed the nvidia driver for my GForce 6800. (Gentoo 2006.1).

Off of the default driver everything looked good. (ya should have left it alone). However, once i installed and used the nvidia driver i get ugly blochy text in xterm.

When i go through the log i see a bunch load of errors that a lot of colors could not be found and its using the default black. (which it cant even find then).

Is there a way i can fix this?

Has something changed so that apps cant look for colors using there names?

Can't be more specific? Post the logs here or if they're big, chuck them in a pastebin somewhere and post a link.
