iam new on linux environment.. in one of our clinet's working environment, they are using redhat 4 server . nearly 60 client machines are connected with this server. some times network disconnected automatically. if we restart rhe server it automatically starts to work. again 2 or 3 days , the same senario is happening. on this server 2 database is running, it makes lot of problem to us.
what will be the problem ??
is any connection parameter is there ? (ie i mean only 50 numbers of client connection is only allowed like.) or any problem in NIC card or NIC driver.. please help me as soon as possible
Could you please describe your problem with more clarity. More people can help you in solving your problem.
Which is the server/client ?
Which server are you restarting ?
Are you just restarting your newtwork servcice OR whole OS ?
How your server is being accessed (SSH,telnet,VNC) ?

If it works for 2 or 3 days, then it's not a number-of-ssh client problem, since everyone would be fully WORKING for those days. You say it has a database on it...what kind of database?? What is the networking environment like on the box? One NIC or 2? Have you checked the cables, router, port, etc., going to the server?
And have you tried just doing a network-restart? Have you looked at the log files? What diagnostics have you done? You've given a very vague description of a problem, but no real information. And if someone has hired you to fix this, you don't seem to have the necessary troubleshooting knowledge.
