Need help starting dbus

Hi, I am trying to start the dbus-daemon on a Davinci Board from Texas Instruments. It is runing the MontaVista OS.

I am in the /usr/bin directory and I type:
dbus-daemon --system

and I get the following error:
Failed to start message bus: Unknown error 1073839232

I have copied all the correct binaries to the usr/lib and usr/bin directories.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Why do I get this message? I know very few of you (if any) will have done what I am doing (On the Davinci Board) but I really would appreciate any help you can give. Surely someone has seen this message before.

Thanks

After reading this, I come to the conclusion that merely copying a few files into a couple of directories is not adequate to get dbus running. It isn't a proper installation. You may have missing files.

Download the dbus tarball if you don't have it already, and read the INSTALL sheel. There are required and optional dependencies, kernel issues, and other things to take care of before dbus will run.

From the link in the above post on how to install DBus:

Quote:
Ensure the following option is enabled in the kernel configuration and recompile the kernel if necessary:

General Setup
System V IPC
How exactly do I do this??

Thanks
