Exclamation My PS/2 Keyboard doesn't work on my Compaq 5050 with RedHat 9

I've just recently installed Red Hat Linux 9 on my Compaq 5050
It's a Intel Celeron 335MHz system running with 64MB SDRAM on a 8GB Hard Drive using a ATI Mach 64 onboard graphics card.

I have the keyboard plugged into the normal PS/2 Port in the back (the keyboard one) and it works fine at the begining before the OS asks me to enter my username.... I'm able to push num lock and have it go off and on, I'm able to type stuff before the OS loads... but once the OS loads it dies.... the num lock light goes off and it doesnt go on even when I push the button etc... its as if the keyboard doesnt even work.
Any input on this problemo??? thanx for the help
