mplayer crash

i am using mandrake 10.0 +KDE+GNOME.

WHEN I RUN I MOVIE on MPLAYER it suddenly crashed after 5 minutes.

i think the movie file is damaged.

but mplayer did not show any result of crash.

how to stop the crash.

Does this happen on any media file you play? If its at the same moment in the same movie file.. I'd say its the file your playing, not mplayer.

mplayer is okay for all other files.
mplayer working well for other files.

Then the only way I know of from preventing the crash would be to replace the bad media file with a good one..
