Since, you are not using LVM. I think the best you can do is delete sda5 and partition it as ext3 and mount it as a separate mount point /whatever . Why do you want to extend your /home mount point anyway? Is it for file storage???

Yeah. I used to keep all my mp3s, pics and videos on a FAT32 partition, so I could use it on both windows/linux. But I barelly use windows anymore, so time to switch to linux only!!

I finally deleted everything, and just kept my windows partition intact. Thanks!

You should have tried it anyway with Gparted if Qtparted is this temperamental, you might have learned something, since wiping it all out and reconstructing was an apparent option.
