mouse pointer caught in FC5


hi

i m very very newbie to linux i have installed fedora core 5 and XP dual booting while working on my system all of sudden my mouse pointer hanged and automatically volume switch active ( master ) as i start moving my pointer something 40% 54% etc coming at the corner of my desktop. then after few seconds mouse pointer got free it is very irritating . kindly help me , i have no knowledge of this operating system.

Can't help much without knowing the gui you are using. Each one differs in their design.
